Stream stops after 2 seconds.

Post by shawly » Mon Feb 02, 2015 11:59 pm

Hi guys,

I once got a similar problem with the same error messages here viewtopic.php?f=48&t=5209. So you don't accidentally refer to my old thread, this time it's different..

The difference now is, I run the Windows 8.1 32-bit machine on an ESXi server as a virtual appliance and pass through my Tevii S471 with DirectPath.
The problem back then was because I didn't use the scheduler console to start the stream, so it wasn't kept alive.
But now I'm using the Scheduler Console to start the stream, it starts VLC I have to wait a few secs and then it plays for 2-3 seconds and then it just shuts off and in the scheduler console the stream disappears.

I rechecked the shares twice and I reinstalled the VM two times now and I really don't get what is causing the problem... Help would be appreciated!

Here is the log again:

Edit: I just checked the permissions, I've granted full permissions for everyone but the problem still occurs.
It's strange that I'm the only person in the forums which has this problem, even twice.

The process I did is setup the VM, install Windows, install TV card drivers, install MySQL, install ArgusTV 2.3, checking the shares are available for everyone (the shares aswell the folder permissions on the disk) then I scan for services, map them, installed vlc and then started the scheduler console to start a stream.. I've done it two times and got the same problem, what am I doing wrong?

What happens if you manually record for 10 mins, does that work?
And can you play that manual recording?

It starts recording but between 2 and 11 seconds the recording stops and restarts creating a new file, but I can watch all recordings.#
I had no problems for the past 2 months when using Windows Server as host, but within a virtual appliance it won't work and I have no other TV cards to try.

I now have completely reinstalled my server with ESXi 5.5 and a Windows VM etc. and the same problem still persists within the VM.
It has to be a problem within the VM but since there is no option to spit out some debug logs I have no chance on fixing this error..

If I go to Recorders within the Scheduler Console and click on Test Shares it says that the shares are OK, so there is no problem within file permissions..
Now the stream also doesn't stop after the error appears, it stops when I close VLC player, so the keepalive also works as it seems.

Just a shot in the dark-- in your error logs the RTSP address is 192.168.0.101, but the streaming server calls it MARS. Can you confirm that "MARS" is resolving to 192.168.0.101 and not a different interface on the VM?

Yeah MARS, mars.ho.me and 192.168.0.101 are definetly the same machine, I configured my dhcp server to give the VM's MAC exactly this IP.
It's just strange that there is not a single error that would explain what could be wrong..

Would be cool if the great dot-i could enlighten me and give me a hint or a debugging version of ArgusTV or could remotely debug my session. :D

Hello?

Edit: Alright I just tried Argus TV 2.2.2 and the exact same error appears.. there is still no solution to this and dot-i is ignoring this thread.

I'm waiting for the day, when finally some of the developers will help me with this.
