Hi !
I just built my first HTPC and i tried different software configuration for watchng TV
I've started with XBMC/KODI after that, i tried MediaPortal 1.xx to 1.12 and DVBViewer and and...... I haven't been able to establish a functional system to 100%
So, at first, as you've probably understood, i want to mount a HTPC with which i'd like to watch satellite (DVB-S1/2) TV and IPTV provided by my network operator.
I need to deliver TV only on one TV and i dont want to depend on the router
For exemple, when i encountered network issue, i'd like to be able to continue watching TV in order to avoid the wrath of my wife ))
So, i think i need to built a single-seat configuration without network depend ?
Could you help me to mont the best solution please ?
What is your opinion ?
- MediaPortal 1.12 (BackEnd) / Kodi (FrontEnd) ?
- MediaPortal 2 only ?
- ArgusTV (BackEnd) / MP 1.12 or 2 (FrontEnd) ?
It would be very grateful if you could help me take a final choice, coz my wife and me are very tired of changing configuration continusly...
Many thanks
Setup for begginer
Re: Setup for begginer
Now, i'm using ArgusTv (backend) / KODI (FrontEnd)
It's very good but i encountered the following difficulty :
1) Channel lists/groups configuration (favorites, numbers, free/pay information ? etc...)
2) Understanding the relation between Scheduler / Recorder and configure (which is the master ???)
Solutions :
1a) Ability to import/export channel lists / Groups
1b) Ability to easily modify this files
2) Regroupe Scheduler/Recorder in one program ?
That's it actually

Re: Setup for begginer
Hi,
for me Was it helpful to use LCN (Logical channel numbers) to sort and Group channels.

Re: Setup for begginer
You'll need to manually enter the LCN as shown in Ostrich's post
