ARGUS TV

Front end: MP 1.9, Win 8.1, Intel NUC i5
Backend: Argus 2.3RC, 2012R2. Timeshift is on SSD, recordings on RAID set.

When watching LiveTV it just suddenly hangs and stops. It seems to be as often as every 20 minutes or so. Normally I can hit stop and go back to the guide, but sometimes I need to use task manager to kill MP.

I've attached log files - any hints clues or other? I'm not sure if it's a MP issue or a plugin issue.

Have you changed the default size/number of timeshift files? I can recall something similar when I was messing around with them when using a RAM drive.

No I haven't played with the timeshift files yet, i'll give that a shot. The freezing is totally random though, sometimes it can be only 5 minutes, other times it can be after several hours.

It's also worth trying XBMC to see if it is the same. Also VLC direct from the Scheduler console.

So... I moved the timeshift form SSD to RAID set with 5TB free. No difference.
When I stream from VLC from the HTPC, it too just stops playing. But only it seems after a long period, and Argus doesn't even notice, it just keeps timeshifting. So i'm not sure if it's the same problem or not?

Will try with XBMC too

OK. Have run XBMC for a solid period without any problems.
The issue is isolated to MediaPortal.

OK here's some more logs. It failed after about 4 minutes of watching, (around 17:02:32) and I had just restarted everything so the logs should be pretty clean.

OK had another failure where I was able to grab the logs just as it failed.
These are the last two lines in the mediaportal.log file. The EVR and tsreader show nothing

/slaps head. Just noticed that the client had switched to RTSP for live TV. Forced it to SMB and it's both far quicker to start and change channels, and so far completely stable. Fingers crossed.
