Hi,
I'm trying out ArgusTv while still using DV Scheduler (http://www.cs.usyd.edu.au/~efax/DV%20Scheduler.html). I like ArgusTv's capabilities with Xbmc which are really good and streets ahead of Dv Scheduler. But, the scheduling capabilities are not as good as they could be. Here are some suggestions based on my experience and use of an alternative over the last few years.
1) We need to be able to have unlimited multiple conditions for a match, with any xmltv field. For example, I have a rule to record all movies with an IMDB rating > 7. But I don't want to record film's I've already seen, or I don't like. So I need an exclusion list. Currently my rule is;
TEXT : (movie) in the category must exist (No Case)
TEXT : (IMDB rating:[ ]*[7-9].*) in the sub-title must exist (RegEx)
TEXT : (ITV2) in the channel must NOT exist (No Case)
TEXT : (.*Date:.*19[1-8][0-9]\s*$) in the description must NOT exist (RegEx)
TEXT : (.*Date:.*199[0-6]\s*$) in the description must NOT exist (RegEx)
and a list of 581 films I don't want
2) We need a match for duration to exclude short programs or find longer ones
3) Regular expressions are needed as an option (to allow my example above)
4) Tasks need to be run when the recording fails (to reset stubborn cards out of hibernate)
5) More than one path for recording, if a disc fills up or stops working
6) Allow the recorder to allocate a large space for writing to, this prevents disc fragmentation
That's all I can think of for now. Keep up the good work!
