WebGrab+Plus and Argus - Supporter Thread

Dear All

As we see, some supporting tools will not be available for upcoming Argus TV 2.3 or aren't maintained anymore.
With this thread we may support you in setting up & tweaking the XMLTV grabber WebGrab+Plus, which is not the easiest to use, but a very flexible one.
The clear target is, that your guide has the best information available, explicitly including season/episode grabbing.

Unfortunately always those "but's"...: WG++ has no GUI.

BUT... :) it has:
- incremental update capabilities
- multiple site-support (ok, nearly all have this ;) )
- post-processing capabilities
- and a very supportive developer

We will see, if you want to use this thread.

What's the benefit?
How you can make use out of a proper season/episode feed via xmltv - please see here: viewtopic.php?p=33973#p33973

Downloads:
List of site.ini files for WG++ that support season/episode numbering within Argus: Repository:
- WG++ Website: http://webgrabplus.com
- WG++ Forum (not very frequented): http://webgrabplus.com/forum
- WG++ Support-Forum for MediaPortal (which is by 100% valid for all WG++ users): http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threa ... bber.88425
- Downloads for specific Argus issues - see below in this post #1: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=3919

Edit Remarks:
The post has been edited by Christoph21x with the explicit allowance of Dragy

Special thanks to Dragy and sgibbers, who brought this grabber up (again) considering "guide enrichment"

Feel free to drop any comment or question in here.

With kind regards of Dragy and from Switzerland - Chris

Thanks for the tip! Because of this grabber I now have radio EPG for The Netherlands (via gids.publiekeomroep.nl). :P The description and other program details aren't always grabbed though, is that a known problem?

The ini file for gids.publiekeomroep has to be updated I guess. I use tvgids.nl as source :)

That is a really nice piece of software. I'm using it as my standard XMLTV source. I've modified the grabber .ini's for my needs. Works like a charm with almost any German website.

Yes, but not for all channels and satellite only.
I linked my sd guide channels to my HD channels, so no need to grab the HD ones.

Hi Glenn,

Quick thing, if you link your SD channels to the HD ones in the guide then you won't get the flags to indicate programmes originated in HD?

Saves recording in HD something that was just upscaled.

Thanks,

James

Yes, no HD flags, but there aren't HD flags for de HD channels either.
So no problem in my case.

Sorry but there is a wrong setting in the configfile, a forgotten leftover from an experiment !
<retry show-delay=15>4</retry> should be <retry>4</retry>

(remove the show-delay, it pauses for 15 seconds between the grab of any show!!)

The error is corrected in the mean time.

again sorry .... wg++maker .. Jan
