"That assembly doesn't allow partially trusted callers"

Post by cncb » Tue Apr 09, 2013 10:37 pm

I get this error when trying to use the .NET 3.5 SDK from an assembly running in a service process. This apparently is some kind of security exception that I don't understand. Have you seen this before and know some way around it or do I just have to use the REST API instead? Thanks.

Not sure what's going on. You mean a Windows service? That should work just fine.

Yes, it is a Windows service that dynamically loads my assembly which is trying to use the SDK. The service actually expects a .NET 2.0 assembly so this could be the problem. I initially couldn't even get it to attempt to load your SDK assemblies until I changed my assembly to target .NET 3.5 after which it will now load them but I get the exception when trying to use it. I tried to set my assembly to "FullTrust" Permissions (as recommended via a search for this problem) but still get the exception. This is beyond my understanding so I guess I will just use the REST API. Thanks.
